ABOUT THE MATHS DESK

Boring Performance is written by the performance team at Boring Commerce. We work on paid growth for Indian ecommerce brands: Meta and Google ads, marketplace ads, creatives, landing pages and retention.
This publication puts the calculation before the recommendation. Each calculator includes a formula, a worked example in rupees and a guide to the inputs that change the answer.
Where the numbers come from
Worked examples are labelled and show the arithmetic in rupees. Definitions link to public platform documentation and educational references. Source receipts name the reference, calculation basis and review date.
Private data follows a separate publication rule. An aggregate needs at least three brands and must state its sample, spend or orders and date window. Figures from one or two stores are labelled as examples. We keep client names and identifying details private.
Use a consistent revenue basis
Worked profit examples use revenue after discounts and refunds, excluding GST. Costs belong to the same orders and period. ROAS is a revenue ratio. It becomes useful for profit decisions only when paired with the right margin.
Your calculator inputs stay with you
Calculator entries stay in your browser. Google Analytics counts visits and page use; it does not receive the figures you enter. Google Fonts loads the typefaces. Read our privacy policy for cookies, Google's terms and opt-out details.
